Sunnudjass – Djasstett Eiríks Rafns

Djasstett Eiríks Rafns er nýstofnaður sextett sem hefur sveifluna að leiðarljósi. Bandið spilar í anda Djasstettsins (The Jazztet) og Djasssendlanna (The jazz messengers) en kemur með ferskan blæ á lagaval sitt með nýjum útsetningum Eiríks. Tekið verður á ýmsum lögum frá miðbiki 20. aldar eftir höfunda eins og Quincy Jones, Thad Jones og Billy Strayhorn en frumsamið efni fær að vera með í bland.
Djasstett Eiríks Rafns er skipaður auk Eiríks á trompet þeim Hauki Gröndal á tenórsaxófón, Stefáni Ómari á básúnu, Mikael Mána á gítar, Birgi Steini á bassa og Erik Qvik á trommur.

Sunday night jazz at Bryggjan Brugghús, Djasstet Eiríks Rafns will play jazz in the spirit of the Jazztet and the Jazz Messengers in brand new versions. The playlist consist of classics from Quincy Jones, Thad Jones and Billy Straythorn in blend with the Jazztetts original material.

The music starts at 20.00 and hungry concertgoers can have a taste of the delicious bar menu, as well as sampling some of the most exciting microbrews in the country. All in all, this event must count as an opportunity to sit down and enjoy some jazz after the weekend.
